ZAYN’s “Mind Of Mine” Soars To #1 on US iTunes Sales Chart; K. Michelle #2

ZAYN’s debut solo album “Mind Of Mine” arrived Thursday night.

Upon launching, it quickly — and predictably — soared to #1 on the US iTunes sales chart.

New releases, in fact, occupy the entirety of the Top 5. K. Michelle’s “More Issues Than Vogue” is #2 as of 2:10AM ET Friday morning, while Asking Alexandria’s “The Black” (#3), Young Thug’s “Slime Season 3” (#4), and Joe Bonamassa’s “Blues Of Desperation” (#5) form the balance of the group.

Two additional Top 10 members — Amon Amarth’s #7 “Jomsviking” and Birdy’s #8 “Beautiful Lies” — are also of the brand new variety. Gwen Stefani’s “This Is What The Truth Feels Like” (#6), Jordan Smith’s “Something Beautiful” (#9), and the soundtrack to “The Passion: New Orleans” (#10) occupy the remaining Top 10 positions.

— While success on iTunes does not always correspond with success on the overall weekly sales chart, it is expected to do so in the case of ZAYN’s “Mind Of Mine.” The album is projected to easily claim #1 on this week’s Top Album Sales chart; ahead of the release, observers were eyeing a pure US sales bow in the 150-175,000 range.
