Last week, Justin Bieber’s “Company” ranked as the Mediabase pop panel’s #50 song.
This week, the fourth “Purpose” single should earn a Top 30 position on the official chart.
“Company” received 1,297 spins during the first five days of the February 28-March 5 tracking week. Up a whopping 593.6% from the previous week’s tally, the count slots “Company” at #31 on Mediabase’s building chart.
At worst, Justin Bieber’s “Company” faces one threat from below: Meghan Trainor’s new single “No.” The song, which is receiving hourly first day airplay at a myriad of pop stations, should make a splash on this week’s chart, although amassing enough spins for a Top 30 position between now and the close of tracking is still a tall order.
Even if “No” were to overtake “Company” — and that’s a big ‘if’ — “Company” is poised to leapfrog Nathan Sykes’ building #30 “Over And Over Again (featuring Ariana Grande)” before the close of tracking. “Company” is only 27 spins behind Sykes’ tune, and it is gaining airplay at a much higher rate.
“Company” will, moreover, also improve by one position due to the fact that Daya’s building #14 “Hide Away” is slated to be removed as a recurrent this week. As long as it is #31 at the close of the tracking week, it will therefore be in the Top 30 on the final chart.
“Company,” notably, does not officially impact the pop radio format until this coming Tuesday.
