On the heels of Sunday’s Academy Awards performance, Interscope confirms that Lady Gaga’s Oscar-nominated “Til It Happens To You” is headed to mainstream radio.
Per Interscope’s promotions team, the song will impact the hot adult contemporary format on March 7. It will go for pop adds the following day.
While Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall” — not Gaga’s song — won the Oscar for Best Original Song, “Til It Happens To You” received a bigger post-show iTunes sales spike. The performance also generated more buzz.
Co-written by Gaga and Diane Warren, “Happens” was written for the documentary film “The Hunting Ground.”
