“Smoke And Fire,” the first single released from Sabrina Carpenter’s forthcoming sophomore album, emerged at the very beginning of the February 19-25 tracking week.
By the end of the week, the single had sold just over 6,000 paid US downloads.
According to Nielsen Music, Carpenter’s new song posted an opening week sales total of 6,012. The count positions “Smoke And Fire” at #188 on the weekly Digital Songs chart. It was the week’s fifth-best-selling new release.
“Smoke And Fire” was the first track written for Carpenter’s upcoming album, which is expected to arrive later this year.
According to Carpenter, the single is “about the experience and the feelings that you have in the aftermath of a relationship’s end.
“This was my first time ever experiencing that. Apparently, I had very fiery images in my brain.”
