While it did not post a monster sales total during the February 5-11 tracking week, The 1975’s “The Sound” fared considerably better than it did the previous week.
According to Nielsen Music, the cut from the band’s “I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It” sold 10,588 US copies during the aforementioned tracking period. The count, which brings the song’s cumulative US total to 44,851, tops the previous week’s mark by 307%.
Driving the gain was a performance on the February 6 “Saturday Night Live.”
The 1975 also played “Love Me” on the episode, but insofar as it was not in the Top 200 for the February 5-11 tracking week, sales were not available at press time.
