Twenty One Pilots Headed For #1 at Pop Radio; Selena Gomez’ “Hands To Myself” Top 10

After three weeks on top, Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” is expected to cede its pop radio airplay crown this week.

Expected to be the new leader? twenty one pilots’ “Stressed Out.”

The multi-format breakthrough, which spent twelve weeks atop the alternative airplay chart, is poised to become the duo’s first #1 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart. It may also ascend to the apex of the hot adult contemporary listing.

“Stressed Out” received 2,426 pop spins on Sunday, which marked the first day of the February 14-20 tracking week. The count trails that of Bieber’s tune by a mere 8 spins, and insofar as “Stressed Out” is accelerating while “Love Yourself” is decelerating (the former is up 7.2% from last week, the latter is down 1.1%), it sets twenty one pilots’ song on a course for #1.

— Another big mover this week will be Selena Gomez’ “Hands To Myself.” The song is poised to crack the Top 10.

Spun 1,366 times on Sunday (+8.7%), “Hands” is #9 on Mediabase’s building chart. While its specific position may change as the week progresses, the song should not dip below the Top 10.
