Ratings: “People v. OJ Simpson” Declines, Still Wins Night With Bronco Episode

In terms of live+same-day ratings, Tuesday’s “People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” predictably suffered losses from last week’s heavily hyped series premiere.

It did, however, convincingly rank as cable’s top Tuesday original in adults 18-49.

Per Nielsen L+SD data, the episode drew a 1.51 adults 18-49 rating and 3.888 million total viewers. The numbers trail those of last week’s premiere (1.96, 5.111 million) by 23% and 24%, respectively.

L+3 data for the premiere reflected a significant DVR spike. While it is unclear if subsequent episodes will grow at the same level in the delayed ratings, it is clear “People v. OJ” will reach considerably more people than reflected in the live+same-days.

Tuesday’s episode chronicled the infamous Bronco chase. Like the premiere, it received strong marks from critics.
