Ratings Update: FOX’s “New Girl” Steady In A18-49 For Megan Fox’s Debut; “The Grinder” Rises

Update: Per final Nielsen ratings data, Tuesday’s “New Girl” held steady in adults 18-49 and enjoyed a week-to-week gain in total viewership.

The episode, which began Megan Fox’s guest stint on the show, posted a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating and reached 3.097 million total viewers. Last week’s episode drew the same 1.4 rating but only 2.943 million viewers.

Lead-out “Grandfathered” was down week-to-week (0.9, 2.419 million vs. 1.0, 2.533 million last week), while “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was even in the demo and up slightly in viewers (1.0, 2.283 million vs. 1.0, 2.244 million).

FOX’s 9:30PM closer “The Grinder” bested last week’s episode, which was the series’ worst-performing installment, in both columns (0.7, 1.906 million vs. 0.6, 1.646 million).

Tuesday’s “New Girl,” which marked the beginning of Megan Fox’s guest arc, matched the previous week’s broadcast in adults 18-49.

It enjoyed an increase in total viewership.

Per Nielsen fast national data, Tuesday’s “New Girl” drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating and 3.212 million total viewers. Last week’s broadcast posted the same 1.4 but attracted only 2.943 million total audience members.

“New Girl” led into “Grandfathered,” which drew a 0.9 and 2.559 million total viewers. The former number trails last week’s 1.0 rating, but the latter represents an improvement from the previous episode’s 2.533 million viewer mark.

Like “New Girl,” 9PM series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” held steady in the demo but gained in total viewership. It drew a 1.0 and 2.309 million total viewers this week, compared to a 1.0 with 2.244 million last week.

“The Grinder” closed FOX’s Tuesday with a 0.8 and 1.978 million total viewers. The numbers best 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and 1.646 million — both series lows — posted by the previous episode.
