ZAYN’s “PILLOWTALK” Debuts At #1 On The Billboard Hot 100

ZAYN this week accomplishes something never achieved by his former group One Direction: he earns a #1 position on the Hot 100.

ZAYN grabs the #1 spot with his debut solo single “PILLOWTALK.” The position comes courtesy the week’s best US sales (267,290) and streaming figures (over 22 million). It also received a solid amount of tracking week airplay.

To date, One Direction’s Hot 100 peak is #2. The group reached that mark with “Best Song Ever.”

“PILLOWTALK” seizes the throne from Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” which slips to #2 after a week at #1.

In reaching #1, ZAYN becomes the first former “boy band” member since The Beatles’ George Harrison to top the Hot 100 with his debut solo single. Harrison topped the Hot 100 with “My Sweet Lord”/”Isn’t It A Pity.”

The Top 10 of this week’s chart is as follows:

10) G-Eazy x Bebe Rexha’s “Me, Myself & I”
9) The Chainsmokers’ “Roses (featuring ROZES)”
8) Flo Rida’s “My House”
7) Rihanna’s “Work (featuring Drake)”
6) Drake’s “Summer Sixteen
5) Adele’s “Hello”
4) twenty one pilots’ “Stressed Out”
3) Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”
2) Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself”
1) ZAYN’s “PILLOWTALK”
