Ratings: NBC’s “Shades Of Blue” Declines This Week

Based on preliminary data, the fifth “Shades Of Blue” episode endured a 15% week-to-week decline in adults 18-49. It also slipped in total viewers.

Nielsen fast national data says Thursday’s episode drew a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating and 5.644 million total viewers. The numbers trail the 1.3 and 6.490 million posted by last week’s episode.

While lead-in “The Blacklist” was down as well (1.5 with 6.473 million vs. 1.6 with 7.164 million), the drop was proportionately smaller than that experienced by “Shades Of Blue.”

“Shades Of Blue” fares well on DVR and continues to represent improvement in what had recently become a difficult timeslot for NBC. This week’s numbers do, however, continue to chip away at the shine associated with its strong early performance.

Starting next week, “Shades Of Blue” will battle ABC’s hit “How To Get Away With Murder” in the timeslot. The heavy competition threatens additional declines.

— NBC’s night opened with “You, Me & The Apocalypse” (0.9, 3.556 million this week vs. 1.2, 5.024 million last week).
