USA Network’s “Colony” Officially Renewed For Second Season

A modest performer from a live+same-day standpoint, USA Network’s new “Colony” has been greatly improving its overall reach thanks to encores, DVR and multi-platform viewership.

That reach was strong enough to earn the drama a second season.

“Carlton and Ryan have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided,” said USA Network’s Chris McCumber. “COLONY’s performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can’t wait to see where the story takes us.”

With the first run and same-night encore included, the first three “Colony” episodes averaged just over 3.4 million live+3 viewers (live broadcasts plus three days of time-shifted viewing). USA adds that more than half a million viewers sampled the pilot via streaming and on-demand services prior to the January 14 premiere.
Episode four of “Colony” airs Thursday night.
