Ratings: “People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” Draws 5.1M Viewers

FX’s “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” predictably dominated the Tuesday cable ratings race.

Per Nielsen cable data, Tuesday’s 81-minute premiere drew a 1.96 adults 18-49 rating and 5.111 million total live+same-day viewers. It was Tuesday’s highest rated and most watched original cable broadcast.

Among adults 18-49, it tied CBS’ Super Bowl commercials special as Tuesday night’s highest rated original program on all of television (network or cable).

While not quite as strong as the past few “American Horror Story” season premieres, the “American Crime Story” launch was a success by any reasonable live+same-day standard. Its already solid numbers should swell considerably with DVR viewership added to the mix.
