Ratings: NBC’s “Superstore,” “Telenovela” Fall Slightly This Week

While not as substantial as those endured by FOX’s “The X-Files” and CBS’ “Supergirl,” NBC’s 8PM comedies suffered week-to-week dips in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Per Nielsen L+SD data, Monday’s “Superstore” drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating and 4.890 million total viewers at 8PM. “Telenovela” followed with a 0.8 and 3.058 million at 8:30.

Last week’s “Superstore” posted a 1.5 with 4.934 million; “Telenovela” delivered a 0.9 with 3.292 million.

The episodic declines are certainly not significant, but any drop is concerning for the already-low-rated “Telenovela.” As a solidly rated comedy series by 2016 standards, “Superstore” presently has more breathing room.

Monday’s television programs did face competition from Iowa caucus coverage, but insofar as such coverage was not a major television event — particularly in the 8PM hour — it is unclear that it played a major role in driving any declines.

— NBC followed its comedies with two hours of “The Biggest Loser” (1.0, 3.205 million this week vs. 1.2, 3.635 million last week).
