Ratings: USA Network’s “Colony” Slips In Week Two

While it did not crash, Thursday’s “Colony” did suffer a slight decline from last week’s already-modest premiere performance.

Per Nielsen cable data, Thursday’s “Colony” drew a 0.39 adults 18-49 rating and 1.260 million total viewers. Last week’s premiere posted a 0.44 with 1.359 million viewers.

Unlike last week’s premiere, this week’s “Colony” was not available for streaming prior to its TV airdate. As a result, it did not have the same sort of bottleneck on its performance.

The “Colony” ratings are not terrible in today’s deflated TV ratings environment, but they do not befit the hype afforded the show. They certainly do not position “Colony” as any sort of gamechanging hit.

When determining its future, USA will likely be weighing its unfulfilled hope that “Colony” would be a breakout hit against an acceptance that few cable shows are posting big live+same-day numbers in 2016.
