SNL Ratings: Adam Driver, Chris Stapleton Ep Posts Two-Year A18-49 High in Top 25 Markets

Saturday’s “SNL” may have aired 45 minutes late, but it did so due to a long-running NFL Playoffs game.

Lead-in support from that Cardinals-Packers game resulted in a strong ratings performance.

This weekend’s “Saturday Night Live,” which featured host Adam Driver and musical guest Chris Stapleton, drew a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating in the Top 25 markets (those with local people meters).

Not simply up from the 2.6 posted by the previous episode (hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, musical guest Bruce Springsteen), the figure represents a two-year high for “SNL.”

“Saturday Night Live” last drew a 3.0 for the January 4, 2014 “Best Of This Season” special. It last drew better than a 3.0 for the December 21, 2013 Jimmy Fallon-Justin Timberlake episode, which posted a 3.9.

— Overnight household data was not available at press time, but NBC estimates a rating in the mid-5s. If accurate, the rating would be the second best of the season.

The November 7 Donald Trump-Sia episode, which presently holds the season high in the overnight households, drew a 6.6.
