Ratings: “Girl Meets World” Falls To Viewership Low, “Bunk’d” Up in A18-49, Down In Viewers

Perhaps hurt by a lack of awareness that it was back from winter hiatus, Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World” set a series low in live+same-day viewership. It also suffered losses in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

While it also slipped to a total viewership low, lead-in “Bunk’d” actually enjoyed gains in the adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 demographics.

Per Nielsen cable data, “Girl Meets World” drew a 0.41 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.35 adults 18-34 rating, and a total live+same-day audience of 1.616 million.

The numbers trail the 0.45 A18-49 rating, 0.39 A18-34 rating, and 2.067 million viewership mark drawn by the previous episode (December 4). The viewership number represents the lowest ever posted by an original “Girl Meets World” episode.

The episode-to-episode decline may generate online chatter, but one down week will not erase the show’s status as a top Disney Channel performer. It will also not change the fact that “GMW” has already been renewed for season three.

— This Friday’s “Bunk’d,” which led into “GMW,” was actually up considerably in the two young adult demographics (0.21 to 0.31 in A18-49, 0.18 to 0.23 in A18-34) but down to a new low in total viewership (1.503 million to 1.475 million).

As “Bunk’d” was also up in older demographics, the key to its viewership slide was a dip among youth viewers.
