Selena Gomez’ “Hands To Myself,” Taylor Swift’s “Woods” Headed For Pop’s Top 40

Selena Gomez’ “Hands To Myself” and Taylor Swift’s “Out Of The Woods,” which last week earned Top 50 rankings at pop radio, will officially enter the Top 40 on this week’s Mediabase chart.

Gomez’ single received 915 spins during the first four days of the January 3-9 tracking week. Up 102.9% from the same time last week, the count positions “Hands” at #37 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Swift’s new single, meanwhile, earned 861 spins during the tracking week’s first four days. Up a whopping 169.9% from last week’s mark, the count earns “Woods” #39 on the building chart.

Based on its more rapid rate of growth, “Out Of The Woods” may overtake “Hands To Myself” before the week is over. Both, moreover, should leapfrog a few other songs, which means both should land comfortably within the official Top 40.

— “Out Of The Woods” is also pacing for a Top 40 position at hot adult contemporary radio. It is currently #42 on the building chart with 205 spins, but its 201.5% week-over-week growth rate suggests it will leapfrog some of the songs standing in its way.
