Technically each series’ fourth episode, the January 4 editions of NBC’s “Superstore” and “Telenovela” were billed as the official premieres.
While neither was a smash hit, both markedly outperformed the previous installments.
Per Nielsen fast national data, Monday’s “Superstore” drew a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating and 6.028 million total viewers. The numbers easily top the 0.9 rating and 3.395 million viewership mark posted by last week’s broadcast.
Monday’s “Telenovela” followed with a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating and 4.540 million total viewers. The previous broadcast posted a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and 2.234 million total viewers.
Because last week’s episodes had been previously released for online streaming and aired during a holiday week, week-to-week growth was likely inevitable. The significance of this week’s growth was not inevitable — and clearly represents good news.
NBC followed its comedies with two hours of “The Biggest Loser” (1.2, 3.846 million).
