Ratings: Syfy’s “The Expanse” Rises Slightly in Demo, Slips in Viewership

Tuesday’s edition of “The Expanse” enjoyed a slight uptick in adults 18-49 but a slight loss in total viewership.

According to Nielsen Live+SD cable data, the episode drew a 0.17 adults 18-49 rating and 633,000 total viewers. Last week’s episode posted a 0.15 in the demo but reached a total of 676,000 audience members.

Tuesday’s broadcast was the series’ fourth broadcast to date. Syfy curiously launched the show during the notoriously ratings-starved holiday season, and the show has predictably failed to generate big numbers.

The show’s modestly rated premiere, which led out of “Childhood’s End,” drew a 0.33 rating and 1.189 million viewers on December 14. Episode two, which also aired out of the miniseries, posted a 0.27 with 854,000 viewers on 12/15.

As noted, the 12/22 edition posted a mere 0.17 rating with 676,000 total viewers. These week’s broadcast reached an even smaller total audience.
