US Single Sales: Adele’s “Hello” Now Ranks as 2015’s Fourth-Best-Selling Song

Adele’s “Hello,” which did not emerge until October 23, is already America’s fourth-best-selling song in 2015.

According to Nielsen Music, “Hello” sold roughly 174,000 US copies during the December 18-24 tracking week. The count, which bests the previous week’s mark by 13%, brought the song’s cumulative US sales total to approximately 3.385 million.

Thus far, only Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” (~5.4 million sales in 2015), Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”(~3.9 million sales in 2015), and Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again (featuring Charlie Puth)” (~3.7 million sales in 2015) have driven more paid US downloads in 2015.

Of those three, only “See You Again” was first released in 2015.

“Hello” appears on Adele’s “25.” Despite not arriving until November 20, “25” is already the year’s best-selling album by a multiple of more than 3.
