Ratings: Syfy’s “The Expanse” Sinks This Week

Undeterred by the proximity to Christmas, Syfy aired a new episode of drama “The Expanse” Tuesday.

The episode, which was the new drama’s third broadcast to date, suffered sharp declines in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Per Nielsen Live+Same-Day cable data, Tuesday’s episode drew a mere 0.15 adults 18-49 rating and 676,000 total viewers. The numbers trail the 0.27 rating and 854,000 viewership mark posted by last Wednesday’s episode.

Those numbers were themselves down from the 0.33 and 1.189 million posted by last Tuesday’s series premiere.

This Tuesday’s episode was the first to air without lead-in support from the now-concluded “Childhood’s End” miniseries. While the miniseries was a soft ratings performer, its presence was still of presumed benefit to “The Expanse.”
