Chris Brown’s “Royalty” Sales Projection Raised to 135-145,000

With several days of data now available, Hits Daily Double has elevated the opening week sales projection for Chris Brown’s “Royalty.”

The album, which was initially expected to sell 125-135,000 US copies during its first week of release, is now on track for a bow in the 135-145,000 range.

A bow in the 135-145,000 territory would narrowly trail the 146,000 posted by Brown’s previous album “X.”

With Adele’s “25” expected to sell another million copies this week, “Royalty” will not contend for the top spot on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. It does, however, have a shot at the #2 position.

Its closest competition will come from Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” (projected for 125-135,000) and Pentatonix’s “That’s Christmas To Me” (projected for 115-125,000).

Based on projections, the week’s other notable performers will include the soundtrack to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (~90-95,000), Chris Stapleton’s “Traveller” (~70-75,000), One Direction’s “Made In The AM” (~60-65,000), Taylor Swift’s “1989” (~50-55,000), Adele’s “21” (~48-53,000), Pentatonix’s “Pentatonix” (~45-50,000), NOW 56 (~43-48,000), Coldplay’s “A Head Full Of Dreams” (~40-45,000), Carrie Underwood’s “Storyteller” (~36-41,000), Pusha T’s “King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude” (~35-40,000), Luke Bryan’s “Kill The Lights” (~35-40,000), and Michael Buble’s “Christmas” (~35-40,000).
