Blake Shelton Earns 21st Country Radio #1 With “Gonna”

Blake Shelton’s team indeed predicted the future by including “Gonna” as the twenty first track on his recent “Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits” album.

In topping this week’s Mediabase country radio singles chart, the tune becomes Shelton’s 21st career #1 hit.

It, moreover, is the sixteenth consecutive Shelton tune to reach the top of the chart. Shelton’s string of consecutive number one hits dates back to 2009’s “Hillbilly Bone (featuring Trace Adkins).”

“Gonna” is the fourth single from Shelton’s “Bringing Back The Sunshine,” which has also produced chart-toppers in “Neon Light,” “Lonely Tonight (featuring Ashley Monroe),” and “Sangria.”

Not simply the leader in Mediabase chart points, “Gonna” also ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s most-played and most-heard song this week.

“Gonna” received 8,582 spins and 61.643 million audience impressions during the December 6-12 tracking week.

Jason Aldean’s “Gonna Know We Were Here” (#2), Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man” (#3), Cam’s “Burning House” (#4), and Brothers Osborne’s “Stay A Little Longer” (#5) complete the Top 5.

Dan + Shay’s “Nothin’ Like You,” which held #1 on last week’s chart, slips to #9 this week.
