Gwen Stefani’s “Used To Love You” Posts Weak Pop Radio Callout Scores

The latest Mediabase/CMM listener callout report is not kind to Gwen Stefani’s “Used To Love You.” The single is one of pop radio’s worst-scoring songs for positive reaction, negative reaction, net positive reaction, and favorite rating.

Per the report, “Used To Love You” garnered a positive reaction from 49.1% of surveyed listeners, a negative reaction from 31.4%, and thus a net positive score 17.6%.

Of the 32 active pop songs featured in this week’s report, its positive score is the second-lowest, its negative score is the fifth-greatest, and its net positive reaction is the third-weakest.

Only Post Malone’s “White Iverson” (17.2%) and Ariana Grande’s “Focus” (5.1%) hold lower net positive scores.

Identified as a favorite by only 12.8% of surveyed listeners, “Used To Love You” is the second-lowest-scoring pop song for that metric.

Familiarity is a modest 69.2%, and the audience reaction can certainly improve as awareness grows. There is no ambiguity about the current numbers, however: they are not strong.

Whether the scores halt the song’s rise remains to be seen. “Used To Love You” this past week reached the Top 20 on Mediabase’s pop airplay chart.
