Ratings: FOX’s “Scream Queens” Finale Receives No Adults 18-49 Gain (Updated)

Final Ratings Update: Airing from 8-10PM, FOX’s “Scream Queens” season finale drew a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating and 2.526 million total viewers.

Last week’s episode, which aired from 9-10PM, drew a 0.9 and 2.398 million total viewers.

Earlier in the day, Nielsen’s fast national ratings report revealed a viewership decline from hour one two hour two. Expected to confirm the same trajectory, Nielsen’s final hourly breakdown is forthcoming.

The masses were not anxious to learn the identity of the (last remaining) Red Devil killer. Tuesday’s two-hour “Scream Queens” finale enjoyed only slight week-to-week improvement in adults 18-49.

By the second hour, the episode’s demo rating was even with that posted by last week’s one-hour episode (which aired in the corresponding 9PM hour).

Per Nielsen fast national data, Tuesday’s “Scream Queens” drew a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating and 2.619 million total viewers in the 8PM hour. It followed with a 0.9 and 2.481 million at 9PM.

Occupying the 9-10PM slot, last week’s one-hour episode posted a 0.9 in the demo and drew a total audience of 2.398 million total viewers.

From a live+same-day ratings standpoint, “Scream Queens” had a disappointing run this fall. Its DVR gains were impressive from a percentage standpoint, but they were not enough to turn the series into a Live+7 ratings blockbuster.

The series did, however, resonate immensely with social media users and cultivate strong brand recognition. Whether that will yield a second season remains to be seen.
