Ratings: AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Rises For Midseason Finale; “Into The Badlands” Also Gains

While it did not perform as well as the 2014 midseason finale, Sunday’s “The Walking Dead” bested the previous week’s episode in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Per Nielsen cable data, the broadcast drew a 7.02 adults 18-49 rating and 13.981 million total viewers. The numbers top the 6.65 rating and 13.224 million viewership average posted by the previous episode.

Sunday’s broadcast served as the midseason/fall finale for season six. The previous midseason finale, which aired on November 30, 2014, drew a 7.6 rating and 14.807 million total viewers.

— “TWD” led into “Into The Badlands,” which posted a 2.46 rating and a 5.166 million viewership mark.

While not as strong as the November 15 series premiere (3.15, 6.90 million), the performance bests that of last week’s episode (2.27, 4.828 million).

— “Talking Dead,” which again aired after “Badlands” rather than “TWD,” posted a 1.27 rating and reached 2.727 million viewers.

Without direct lead-in support from “The Walking Dead,” the post-game show has been taking a hit. Episodes that immediately followed “The Walking Dead” would typically draw well over a 2.0 in the demo.
