Ratings Update: “Scream Queens” Sets New Series Low, “Grandfathered, “Grinder” Also Down

Final Ratings Update: Absent momentum and facing the impact of Thanskgiving week and stronger-than-usual competition from ABC, FOX’s three Tuesday freshmen all posted their weakest numbers yet.

9PM series “Scream Queens” posted a mere 0.8 adults 18-49 rating and reached 1.983 million total viewers. The series low numbers trail the 0.9 rating and 2.370 million drawn by last week’s episode.

8PM comedy “Grandfathered” (0.9, 2.717 million this week vs. 1.0, 2.978 million last week) and 8:30PM series “The Grinder” (0.7, 2.249 million vs. 0.9, 2.370 million last week) also set series lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.
=======================

The Thanksgiving Week broadcasts of FOX’s “Scream Queens,” “Grandfathered,” and “The Grinder” all posted new series lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Per fast national data, Tuesday’s “Scream Queens” drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating and 1.997 million total viewers in the 9PM hour.

Lows for the freshman show, the numbers trail the 0.9 and 2.370 million marks posted by last week’s episode.

FOX filled the 8PM hour with “Grandfathered” (0.9, 2.781 million this week vs. 1.0, 2.978 million last week) and “The Grinder” (0.7, 2.316 million this week vs. 0.9, 2.370 million last week). Those shows, too, had their weakest outings yet.

In addition to the impact of Thanksgiving week, the shows also faced stronger than usual competition from ABC. The Charlie Brown special markedly outdrew the network’s usual “The Muppets”-“Fresh Off The Boat” tandem in the 8PM hour, while the “Dancing With The Stars” finale was stronger than “Agents of SHIELD” at 9PM. The factors may have contributed to this week’s decline.

By the same token, it is not as if any of FOX’s Tuesday shows had ample momentum.
