Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” Claims #1 at Pop Radio

Making good on Headline Planet’s projection, Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” claims the top spot on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

Spun ~17,959 times during the November 1-7 tracking week (+687), “Stitches” rises one place to #1 on the listing.

Mendes seizes the throne from labelmate and tourmate Taylor Swift, whose “Wildest Dreams” spent two weeks on top. “Wildest Dreams” takes #2 on this week’s chart courtesy a spin total of ~17,710 (-956).

The Weeknd’s “The Hills” (#3, = | ~15,578, -1,514), Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” (#4, = | ~14,610, -2,151), and Drake’s “Hotline Bling’ (#5, = | ~13,614, +2,256) hold steady inside the Top 5.

Not simply Mendes’ first #1, “Stitches” is the Canadian singer-songwriter’s first song to reach the Top 40 at pop radio.
