Unable to contend with Adele’s monstrous, record-breaking “Hello,” Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” still posted a strong opening week sales total.
According to Nielsen Music, “Sorry” sold 276,827 paid US downloads during the October 23-29 tracking week.
The tally earns “Sorry” the #2 position on the weekly Digital Songs chart. Only Adele’s “Hello,” which sold 1.112 million, claims a higher position.
The strong sales total also contributes heavily to the song’s #2 position on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100 chart.
— Bieber’s previous single “What Do You Mean?” also fared solidly within the October 23-29 tracking week. Nielsen Music confirms a weekly sales total of 72,214 (#7 on Digital Songs).
Up 5% from the previous week’s mark, the tally results in a new cumulative US total of 1,106,495.
