Hot 100: The Weeknd’s “The Hills” Holds Off Drake’s “Hotline Bling”

Given that Adele’s “Hello” will surely top next week’s Billboard Hot 100, this week represented Drake’s best opportunity to score his first #1 as a lead artist.

It did not happen.

Unable to dethrone The Weeknd’s “The Hills,” Drake’s “Hotline Bling” repeats as #2 on this week’s edition of the all-encompassing chart. It thus remains tied with “Best I Ever Had” as Drake’s highest-charting song as a lead artist.

In retaining #1, The Weeknd’s “The Hills” earns a sixth consecutive week on top.

Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” remains #3 on this chart, while Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” and Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” rise to #4 and #5, respectively.

The #5 position represents the Swift tune’s first appearance inside the Top 5. It leaves “Style” (#6 peak) as the only official “1989” single to miss that portion of the chart.

Also in the Top 10:

6) Fetty Wap’s “679”
7) The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”
8) R. City’s “Locked Away (featuring Adam Levine)”
9) Silento’s “Watch Me”
10) One Direction’s “Perfect”
