Neither Adele’s “Hello” nor Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” was available until late in the October 18-24 tracking week.
Both songs, however, debut within the Top 40 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.
“Hello,” which first emerged on the morning of October 23, received 1,621 pop spins within the official tracking week. That allows for a #33 debut on the official chart.
“Sorry,” which debuted on the afternoon of October 22, received 1,563 spins inside the tracking week. That count positions Bieber’s new single at #34 on the chart.
In addition to general enthusiasm, both “Hello” and “Sorry” benefited from hourly airplay promotions on their opening days.
