Adele’s “Hello” Scores Ample First Day Airplay at Pop, Hot AC, AC Radio

Powered by hourly airplay promotions and overall industry excitement, Adele’s “Hello” scored considerable first day airplay at the US’ pop, hot adult contemporary, and adult contemporary formats.

The lead “25” single received 1,299 daily spins from Mediabase-monitored pop stations. The count earns “Hello” the #34 position on Mediabase’s building chart, which accounts for the first six days (October 18-23) of the complete October 18-24 tracking week. “Hello” was only available on the last of those days (October 23).

“Hello” claims even higher positions on the building Hot AC and AC building charts.

Thanks to the 716 Hot AC spins it received on October 23, “Hello” takes #31 on the building listing. Its AC spin count of 173 warrants a #23 position on Mediabase’s building adult contemporary listing.

Insofar as it will continue receive substantial airplay on Saturday, “Hello” will close the October 18-24 tracking week comfortably inside the Top 40 at the three formats.
