Ratings: AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Falls This Week, Least-Watched Since Season 4

Facing competition from Sunday Night Football, the MLB Playoffs, and potentially the early stages of fatigue, Sunday’s “The Walking Dead” suffered losses in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Per Nielsen cable data, the episode drew a 6.17 adults 18-49 rating with 12.183 million viewers.

Last week’s sixth season premiere posted a stronger 7.43 adults 18-49 rating with 14.633 million viewers.

This week’s episode ranked as the least-watched installment since season four’s winter finale (12.051 million viewers).

Despite the decline, “The Walking Dead” remains a monster performer in the ratings. Its live+same-day adults 18-49 mark will rank as the week’s greatest — among both cable and broadcast series — for a non-sports program.
