Final data from the October 9-15 tracking week has not yet been published, but enough insight is available to report that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Downtown” has crossed the 500,000 US sales mark.
“Downtown” entered the tracking period with a cumulative sales total of 465,220. Since it was expected to sell upwards of 65,000 copies during the October 9-15 frame — and certainly more than 34,780 — it surely crossed the half-million threshold before the week reached its conclusion.
“Downtown” is also expected to receive positive news on the radio front; current pacing has the song reaching the Top 5 on this week’s Mediabase rhythmic airplay chart and Top 10 on the Mediabase pop chart.
Released this past August, “Downtown” credits Eric Nally, Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, and Grandmaster Caz as featured performers.
