Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” Certified Platinum in the United States

While not yet formally announced on the RIAA website, word has emerged that Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” has achieved a platinum certification in the United States.

The platinum certification confirms a US unit total of at least one million. Under the terms of the RIAA’s digital singles program, one unit is equivalent to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

Headline Planet this week revealed that “What Do You Mean?” has driven over 800,000 paid downloads in the United States.

First released on August 28, 2015, “What Do You Mean?” is the lead single from Bieber’s forthcoming album “Purpose.”
