Ratings Update: “Quantico” Ranks as ABC’s Top Sunday Show, “Blood & Oil” Draws 6.3M

Final Ratings Update: While not a blockbuster performer, the “Quantico” premiere did rank as ABC’s highest-rated and most-watched Sunday program.

Per final broadcast data, Sunday’s “Quantico” premiere drew a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating with 7.142 million viewers. It was its timeslot’s #2 broadcast network program (behind Sunday Night Football) in adults 18-49 and #3 broadcast network program in viewers (behind football and CBS’ “CSI” finale).

It was ABC’s Sunday night leader in both categories.

Leading out of the “Dark Swan Rises” special (0.7, 3.199 million), veteran “Once Upon a Time” posted a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating with 5.925 million viewers. The series premiere of “Blood & Oil” followed with a 1.4 and 6.363 million.
=====================

The preliminary household ratings convincingly identify the “Quantico” premiere as ABC’s best-performing Sunday broadcast. And while the adults 18-49 and total viewership data (due by 11:15AM delayed until 1PM) may reflect a closer picture, it is very likely “Quantico” led ABC’s night in those columns as well.

Per metered market data, “Quantico” drew a 5.4 overnight household rating from 10-10:30PM and a 5.3 from 10:30-11PM.

The “Quantico” premiere led out of the debut of ABC’s “Blood & Oil.” The new soap drew a 4.5 overnight household rating from 9-9:30PM and a 4.4 from 9:30-10PM.

While not as strong as “Quantico” in the overnights, “Blood & Oil” did build on its “Once Upon a Time” lead-in, at least as far as household audience is concerned. The season premiere of “OUAT” posted a steady 3.7 overnight household rating throughout the 8PM hour.

ABC opened its night with the “Dark Swan Rises” special. It drew a 2.1 household rating at 7PM and a 2.0 at 7:30PM.

The adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers will be available by 1PM.
