Ratings: Disney’s “Liv and Maddie” Improves This Week; “Best Friends Whenever” Also Up

In addition to Sunday Night Football and “Fear The Walking Dead,” Disney Channel’s “Liv and Maddie” also faced opposition from FOX’s 67th Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast.

It still managed to post week-over-week gains in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, and total viewership.

This week’s episode drew a 0.39 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.37 adults 18-34 rating and 2.103 million total viewers.

Last week’s back-to-back season premiere episodes averaged a 0.30, a 0.29, and 1.751 million in the respective three columns.

Those back-to-back episodes, which represented Disney Channel’s only original primetime programming on 9/13, occupied the 8-9PM hour. This week’s episode aired in the 9-9:30PM slot; it followed “Austin & Ally” and “Best Friends Whenever.”

The former aired at 8PM and drew a 0.28 adults 18-49 rating, a 0.25 adults 18-34 rating, and 1.827 million viewers. The latter, which led directly into “Liv and Maddie,” posted a 0.35 in adults 18-49, a 0.27 in adults 18-34, and a viewership total of 2.094 million.

Compared to the show’s previous telecast (0.26 in A18-49, 1.943 million viewers), Sunday’s “Austin & Ally” was up in adults 18-49 but down in total viewership. “Best Friends Whenever” bested its predecessor (0.29, 2.030 million) in both.
