Fast Nationals Update: Leading out of a markedly deflated “Gotham” premiere (1.6 adults 18-49 rating with 4.49 million viewers), FOX’s “Minority Report” drew a disappointing 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 3.09 million total audience members.

Positioned against Monday Night Football, “The Voice,” “Dancing With the Stars,” and “Scorpion,” FOX’s “Minority Report” premiere did not air in the most desirable of circumstances.

It, perhaps because of that scenario, did not deliver the most desirable of ratings.

Per metered market data, Monday’s series premiere drew a poor 2.3 overnight household rating. While one should always wait until the adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers emerge before rendering a complete conclusion, the weak overnight household number does not signpost a strong performance in the other columns.

In addition to the competitive landscape, “Minority Report” was also asked to deal with lead-in support from a deflated “Gotham.” While last year’s series premiere posted a 5.7 overnight household rating, this week’s season two premiere managed a 3.2.
