“Veep” Wins Emmy For Outstanding Comedy Writing, “Transparent” Wins for Directing

HBO’s “Veep” and Amazon’s “Transparent” split the awards for Outstanding Writing and Directing in a Comedy at the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy ceremony.

The former, which won the writing award for its “Election Night” episode, bested Episodes, The Last Man on Earth, Louie, Silicon Valley, and Transparent.

Simon Blackwell, Armando Iannucci, and Tony Roche were the writers specifically awarded.

Awarded for its “Best New Girl” episode, “Transparent” won the directing trophy over The Last Man On Earth, Louie, Silicon Valley, and Veep.

Director Jill Soloway specifically took home the prize.
