Last week, MTV’s “Faking It” posted series low numbers in adults 18-49 and total viewers.
This week, it drew even weaker marks.
Monday’s episode managed a mere 0.18 adults 18-49 rating with 439,000 total viewers. The numbers, which trail the 0.20 and 584,000 marks posted last week, represent new lows for the MTV comedy.
Unlike last week’s installment, this week’s episode cannot blame its decline on the Labor Day holiday. It did receive elevated competition in the form of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” and ESPN’s Monday Night Football coverage, but lead-in “Awkward” managed to post gains in the face of the same competition.
Granted, those gains were not significant enough to return “Awkward” to its usual levels. Monday’s episode drew a 0.37 adults 18-49 rating with 761,000 viewers. Those numbers may top the 0.30 rating and 682,000 viewership mark posted last week, but they are not good by the show’s standard.
If not for last week’s number, this week’s “Awkward” viewership total would represent a series low.
Competition, unfortunately, will only intensify in the coming weeks. In addition to the continued presence of football and “DWTS,” the timeslot will also soon feature fall programming from CBS, NBC, The CW, and FOX.
