Ratings: “Jim Gaffigan Show” Drew 571K Viewers on TV Land; “Impastor” Garnered 449,000

Unlike all previous episodes, Wednesday’s “The Jim Gaffigan Show” and “Impastor” did not receive a Nick at Nite simulcast. They only aired on TV Land.

In a testament to the fact that simulcasts boost viewership by exposing the show to viewers who would not have watched it on its home network, both suffered massive declines in their adults 18-49 and audience totals.

“Gaffigan” drew a 0.16 adults 18-49 rating with 571,000 viewers. While the performance bests that of last week’s unusually low-rated TV Land broadcast (0.09 rating/443,000 viewers), it was no better than the show’s TV Land airings typically perform.

Moreover, it did not remotely account for the lost Nick at Nite viewers. Last week’s Nick at Nite broadcast drew a 0.23 adults 18-49 rating with 739,000 viewers and thus resulted in a combined 0.32 adults 18-49 rating with 1.182 million viewers. This week’s TV Land performance (0.16/571,000) was the “total.”

“Impastor” encountered a similar reality. Wednesday’s episode drew a 0.12 adults 18-49 rating with 449,000. Up the previous week’s particularly soft TV Land showing (0.09/351,000), this week’s TV Land performance was fairly typical. It received no obvious boost from the loss of the Nick at Nite broadcast.

And since last week’s Nick at Nite airing added a 0.18 adults 18-49 rating and 637,000 viewers to the equation, this week’s TV Land-only episode reached a considerably smaller overall audience. Last week’s concurrent broadcasts combined for a 0.27 in adults 18-49 and 988,000 viewers.

Both “Gaffigan” and “Impastor” were recently renewed for season two.
