R. City’s “Locked Away” Going Top 10 at Pop Radio; One Direction Headed Top 15

R. City’s developing smash “Locked Away (featuring Adam Levine)” will claim a Top 10 position on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

“Locked Away” received 7,247 plays during the first five days of the August 23-29 tracking week. Up 17.7% from the spin count at the same time last week, the tally positions “Locked Away” at #9 on Mediabase’s building pop airplay chart.

Since the song is still making gains — and under no imminent threat — it will have no trouble retaining its Top 10 status over the next two days.

“Locked Away” was #12 on last week’s final/official Mediabase airplay chart.

— One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” will, meanwhile, reach the Top 15 on this week’s official chart.

Spun 4,509 times over the tracking week’s first five days, “Drag Me Down” is already up to #15 on the building chart. It will not fall from that position over the next few days, and the fact that Fifth Harmony’s #12 “Worth It (featuring Kid Ink)” is expected to go recurrent–and be removed from the active chart–foretells an improved final position for “Drag Me Down.”

“Drag Me Down” also stands a chance of overtaking 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She’s Kinda Hot,” which is currently #14 on the building chart (4,543 plays over the tracking week’s first five days).

The anticipated recurrent transition for “Worth It” would also serve to bring Jason Derulo’s “Cheyenne” into the Top 15.

“Drag Me Down” and “Cheyenne” were #17 and #18 on last week’s final/official chart, respectively.
