Ratings: FX’s “Tyrant” Soars to Season High; Draws More Viewers Than “The Strain”

Going into this week’s “Tyrant,” no second season episode had drawn as many viewers as the lowest-rated first season episode.

This week’s episode ended that cold streak.

Up comfortably from the previous week’s episode, this week’s edition of the FX drama drew a 0.49 adults 18-49 rating with 1.347 million total viewers. Both numbers comfortably top those of last week’s broadcast, which scored a 0.39 with 1.126 million viewers.

Both numbers also represent season highs.

The episode, as noted, was the season’s first to outdraw a season one episode. The August 5, 2014 episode, which was the first season’s least-watched installment, reached an audience of 1.336 million.

It was also the first “Tyrant” to draw a greater audience than the same week’s “The Strain” episode. While this Sunday’s “The Strain” drew a stronger adults 18-49 rating (0.57), it reached a series low audience of 1.264 million.
