Joss Stone’s “Water for Your Soul” Debuted with 11.6K First Week Sales

Responsible for her lowest opening week sales total since 2003’s “The Soul Sessions,” Joss Stone’s new “Water for Your Soul” still claims a Top 20 position on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

According to Nielsen Music, “Water” moved approximately 11,600 US copies during the July 31-August 6 tracking week. That earns the album the #16 position on Top Album Sales.

“Water” concurrently appears at #34 on the revamped, consumption-oriented Billboard 200, which ranks albums based on the sum of pure sales, track sales/10 and track streams/1500.

“Water for Your Soul” is Joss Stone’s first studio album since 2012 and first album of originals since 2011.

Previous release “The Soul Sessions, Volume 2,” which consisted of covers, debuted at #10 on the then-sales-only Billboard 200. It moved approximately 24,000 copies in its first week.

2011’s “LP1,” which features original material, debuted at #9 on the strength of 30,000 sales.
