Halsey’s “New Americana” Surges Into Alternative Radio’s Top 30

Another substantial week-over-week airplay gain allows Halsey’s “New Americana” to cross a new checkpoint on Mediabase’s alternative airplay chart.

The song, which last week entered the chart’s Top 40, surges into the Top 30 this week.

Spun 453 times during the July 26-August 1 tracking week, “New Americana” enjoys a four-place lift to #29 on the chart.

Its weekly spin total tops last week’s tally by a sizable 155 plays. Only Cold War Kids’ #6 “First” (+212) and Foals’ #33 “Mountain at My Gates” (+208) enjoyed greater-week-over-week airplay gains.

— Insofar as “New Americana” is receiving particularly strong attention from high-profile markets, it ranks even more favorably from an audience standpoint. Its weekly impression count of 2.268 million ranks as the alternative format’s 19th-greatest.
