Maroon 5’s “Sugar” Has Sold 3 Million Copies in 2015

When the July 17-23 tracking week reached its conclusion, Maroon 5’s “Sugar” ranked as 2015’s fourth-best-selling single.

Its year-to-date total? Approximately 3.01 million US sales, per Nielsen Music.

The tally positioned “Sugar” behind only Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” (~5.05 million), Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” (~3.56 million) and Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” (~3.30 million) on the 2015 sales chart.

With the song’s modest amount of 2014 downloads included, “Sugar” closed last week with a cumulative sales total of approximately 3.05 million.

Cut from Maroon 5’s fall 2014 release “V,” “Sugar” officially impacted radio in January 2015. It went as high as #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
