Hot 100: Major Lazer’s “Lean On,” The Weeknd’s “The Hills” Enter Top 10

Major Lazer’s “Lean On,” which this week reached the Top 10 at pop radio, is also a Top 10 single on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100.

The track, which features MØ and DJ Snake, rises eight places to a new peak of #9.

A solid sales and radio performer, “Lean On” owes its greatest success to streaming. Its weekly count of 9.6 million US streams is enough for a #7 position on the Streaming Songs subchart.

“Lean On” is not the week’s only addition to the Top 10.

The Weeknd’s #2 hit “Can’t Feel My Face” is consuming the lion’s share of radio attention, but “The Hills” continues to generate stellar streaming and sales activity. This week, the combined activity earns “The Hills” the #10 spot on the Hot 100.

It was #12 last week.

“The Hills” also appears at #5 on Streaming Songs (12.4 million) and #6 on Digital songs (9K sales).

OMI’s “Cheerleader” holds the #1 spot on this week’s chart.
