Hilary Duff’s “Sparks” officially joins the Top 40 on this week’s edition of the Mediabase hot adult contemporary airplay chart.
Spun 353 times during the July 12-18 tracking week (+6), “Sparks” rises to #38 on Mediabase’s official chart.
While a recalculation confirms that “Sparks” was actually last week’s #40 song, the original version of the chart listed a #41 position. This week’s chart is thus the first one on which “Sparks” actually appears inside the Hot AC format’s Top 40.
It is the only new addition to the weekly Top 40. Two songs do, however, reach the Top 50.
Despite losing airplay, Matt Nathanson’s “Gold in the Summertime” rises two places to a new peak of #49. It received 162 tracking week spins (-2).
Selena Gomez’ Top 15 pop hit “Good For You” also enters Hot AC’s Top 50. Spun 158 times (+27), it rises five places to a new peak of #50.
