Ratings: AMC’s “Humans” Premiere Bests 2014’s “Halt and Catch Fire” Debut

One cannot sincerely claim AMC’s “Humans” launched as a blockbuster hit.

One, however, can factually claim that it got off to a much stronger start than “Halt and Catch Fire.”

Sunday’s “Humans” premiere posted a 0.53 adults 18-49 rating with 1.726 million viewers. Neither number is spectacular, but both best those posted by the 2014 “Halt and Catch Fire” launch.

Airing on June 1, 2014, that broadcast drew a 0.34 rating with 1.190 million viewers.

While “Halt and Catch Fire” has never been identified as anything approximating a ratings winner, it did earn a second season renewal. Its low-rated second season is ongoing — Sunday’s episode, which aired out of “Humans,” drew a 0.18 rating with 543,000 viewers.
