Hilary Duff’s “Breathe In. Breathe Out.” Debuts With 32.7K Sales

Hilary Duff’s first album in eight years did not sell nearly as well as its predecessor, but it did rank as this past week’s third-best-selling album.

According to Nielsen Music, “Breathe In. Breathe Out.” moved 32,720 copies during the June 15-21 tracking week. That total positions the album at #3 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart; only James Taylor’s “Before This World” (95,868) and Adam Lambert’s “The Original High” (41,781) appear higher.

Released in 2007, Hilary Duff’s previous album “Dignity” was also the third-best-selling album during its opening week. Its first week sales total, however, was a considerably stronger 140,000.

With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) included, “Breathe In. Breathe Out.” boasts a first week consumption total of approximately 39,000 units. That gives the album the #5 slot on the revamped Billboard 200.
